Community Guidelines

Gathrly is for planning gatherings with people you trust and care about. These guidelines exist so everyone using the app can feel safe doing exactly that.

What Gathrly is for

• Coordinating real-life events with friends, family, and people you know
• Finding times that work, voting on options, and chatting about plans
• Building anticipation for the gatherings you're looking forward to

What's not allowed

We have zero tolerance for any of the following — in event titles, descriptions, locations, chat messages, profile names, or anywhere else content appears in Gathrly:

• Harassment or bullying of any user, including threats, intimidation, and coordinated targeting
• Hate speech including slurs and content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability
• Sexual content, especially anything involving or sexualizing minors (we report CSAM to NCMEC immediately)
• Threats of violence, encouragement of self-harm or suicide, or content glorifying mass violence
• Impersonation of other people, brands, or organizations
• Spam, scams, phishing, or commercial promotion without our permission
• Illegal activity of any kind, or content that violates the law in your jurisdiction or ours

This list is not exhaustive. If something feels wrong, it probably is.

How we enforce

We review every report within 24 hours of submission. Depending on what we find, we may:

1. Take no action if the report is unfounded
2. Warn the user privately
3. Remove the content and notify the user
4. Suspend the account temporarily
5. Permanently ban the account for serious or repeated violations

For content involving illegal activity, immediate threats, or CSAM, we may also report to law enforcement and the appropriate authorities.

How to report content

In the app, long-press any chat message (or right-click on web) to open the actions menu, then tap Report. You can also report events from the event details page menu.

When you report someone, they're automatically blocked for you — they can't message you, see your activity, or invite you to events. You can manage your blocked users anytime in Settings → Safety → Blocked users.

How to block someone

You don't need to report someone to block them. In the Friends list, tap the menu icon next to their name and choose Block user. They won't know you blocked them, and they won't be able to interact with you in the app.

Blocking is reversible — visit Settings → Safety → Blocked users to unblock anyone you've blocked previously.

For anything that doesn't fit a content report — questions, feedback, account issues, or appeals of moderation decisions — email us at support@gathrlyapp.com. We aim to respond within one business day.

When these guidelines change

We may update these guidelines as Gathrly evolves. We'll always note the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after a meaningful update constitutes acceptance of the new guidelines.
